About
In December of 2014, the Boston Cello Society was established. Inspired by the wealth of artistry and the many music schools and conservatories that call the greater Boston area home, cellist Robert Mayes founded the Boston Cello Society to be a source of contact for cellists and enthusiasts throughout New England.
The mission of the Boston Cello Society will be to share and promote an appreciation of the cello via opportunities for performing, listening, and learning, both within the musical world and in the community at large.
In addition to marquee events, organizers envision philanthropic activities, such as establishing a cello library to donate or rent instruments to aspiring artists and performing benefit concerts at such venues as hospitals and senior centers.
